In the Spring of 2020, gallery spaces across the world were closed, classes finished online, and our MFA thesis festival– once meant to be a physical show– went completely virtual.

As part of our online exhibition (Hindsight 2020), we created Hindsight Guestbook: a procedurally-generated story of togetherness built inside the digital show.

Every visitor to the festival website leaves anonymous data footprints as they explore the site. We use these footprints to build an real-time story of people coming together from distant locations to share in learning, design, and art-making.
